Description
General House Information The Lancer House (formerly known as the Royal Lancer public house) is a large friendly 15-bedroom student house situated on Penistone road on the outskirts of the City Centre. The University of Sheffield and the popular bars and restaurants situated on West Street are just a ten to fifteen minute walk away. If you do not feel like walking into town, Penistone road has fantastic public transport service; there are both bus and supertam stops opposite the house. If you have your own car and do not want to leave it on the road at night, then do not worry; the Lancer house has its own car park. In close proximity to the house there are several local shops and takeaways. Across the road there is a 24hr Tesco for all your groceries and late night needs. No bills @ the Lancer There are no bills to pay at the Lancer because the rate for the room is inclusive. This means no gas, electricity or water charges. The one exception is the cost for Broadband Internet. Broadband costs are usually around £4 per month, per participating tenant for an overall bandwidth of 8 megabyte. Who lives at the Lancer Although the Lancer House is closer to Sheffield University, in previous years there has been a good mixture of male and female students studying at both Sheffield and Hallam Universities. The transport links and locality of the house mean that nowhere is that far away. Please note: the Lancer House is only let to students because of Council tax complications. Rooms The accommodation is split over three levels, floors L, A and N. All the bedrooms in the house are of a generous size and have a real feeling of space because of the high ceilings (due to the fact the building was formerly a pub). Each room is priced differently depending on the size and specification of the room: £56.50 £61.00 £64.00 Please remember this price also includes bills! Communal areas The house has two very large modern fitted kitchens and bathrooms on each floor. Students have 24hr access to a free laundry room facilities comprising of a washing machine and tumble dryer. RKJ Properties employs a cleaner to clean all communal areas of the house at least once a week. We employ contractors to maintain all areas of the building. Contract information The duration of the tenancy is for 12 months starting on the 1st of July 2009. Each student signs their own fixed term assured shorthold tenancy agreement .
